Funding for the Scholarship

Since 1960, when the scholarship was first introduced, the North East Council of PTAs has raised money through various sources, including individual donations and memorials to used book sales, in order to maintain the scholarship and build a permanent fund from which to draw interest. The goal has always been to make the fund self-sustaining, but this dream has yet to reach fruition.

The current value of the permanent fund is approximately $180,000. It is estimated that this fund must grow to $340,000 to maintain scholarships at all seven North East District high schools.

The North East Council of PTAs has recently begun a campaign to educate our community about this scholarship and to build the fund so that it will become self-sustaining in the very near future. Help us reach our goal by donating today.
